New Kid On The Block - Meet Our New Cloud Bookkeeper
There's a new kid on the block here at Raffingers. Meet Huseyin, our new Cloud Assistant! To celebrate this new arrival into the Raffingers team, we thought we'd give our readers an insight into our new team member so that you can learn more about him and discover his plans for the future of Raffingers.
1. What was your job role before joining us?
I was an Accounts Assistant for an accountancy practice before joining Raffingers.
2. Talk us through your prior experience?
Since my studies, I worked as an Accounts Assistant for just over 2 years, with Raffingers being the 3rd firm I have worked at.
3. What interested you about this role?
The positive work culture that Raffingers pride themselves on was something that I was looking for. I’ve also always wanted to work for a large, well-respected accountancy firm, whilst gaining exposure and experience in using the Xero software in relation to bookkeeping/accounting duties.
4. What are you looking forward to doing most in the coming year/s?
I am looking forward to progressing in my role and career with Raffingers, and being able to apply the knowledge that I will gain from my ACCA studies and my work.
5. Do you have any hobbies outside of work? If so, what are they?
Outside of work, I’m quite active and I'm really into my boxing, rock climbing and football.
6. What was your route like into cloud accounting?
After my Economics degree, I completed an MSc Finance degree, in which I had accounting and audit units that really piqued my interest in accounting. Once I graduated, I made sure to get a role in Accountancy and get started on my ACCA exams so I could pursue this career.
7. Can you give us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am a black belt in Karate.
8. Who inspires you?
My parents. They have always motivated me to try my hardest in whatever I do and they're the reason why I have the work ethic that I do today.
9. What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
'Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind' by Yuval Noah Harari.
10. What’s something you’re proud of?
I’m proud that I managed to complete my MSc Finance degree.
11. What’s your idea of a perfect workday?
The perfect workday is to be able to complete everything that needs to be accomplished for that day and learn something new each day.
12. If you could have dinner with 3 celebs dead or alive, who would they be?
- Cristiano Ronaldo
- Elon Musk
- Leonardo DiCaprio
13. If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
I would be a tiger as they are calm, courageous and confident.
14. What do you hope to bring to the company?
I hope to bring a good work ethic and laughter.
15. How do you see the world of cloud accounting changing?
With the rapid improvement of technology and innovation, combined with the wider adoption of cloud-based software, we are relying more and more on automation and artificial intelligence. The further development of AI and automation will allow for the mundane tasks to be dealt with by the AI, leaving more time for accountants to focus their time on higher impact and higher value activities.
