We would like to introduce you to YouTube Giving! Last week YouTube stated that, following positive feedback from Fundraisers and Community Fundraisers, they have plans to roll out their new fundraising tools.
Erin Turner, product manager for YouTube Giving, stated that:
“From live streams to community campaigns, it’s humbling to see how creators around the world use YouTube as a platform to bring together communities and champion the causes they care about. These movements remind us about what is (and has always been) so special about YouTube — the deep and meaningful connections between creators and their fans, and the powerful impact they build together.”
The new tools will allow charities to embed a fundraising campaign right next to their videos. This will include the ability to add a “Donate” button, making it easier and simpler for charities to fundraise on YouTube. YouTube has also promised to take care of logistics and payment processing for Creators. By this they mean, Creators can simply setup their campaign and YouTube Giving will take care of the rest.
As with many large US providers, for the time being, YouTube Giving is only available to limited qualifying US and Canadian registered non-profit organisations. Europe and UK will have to wait a little bit longer, but watch this space.
